In March, the Tufted Ducks on Testside Lakes were startlingly well dressed. All ready for mating time.
What amazes me is that it is possible to paint them all, male and female alike, using just two tubes of paint. There is something quite deep about our colour perception that I still wrestle to understand. It relates to complementary colours and the special nature of the colour wheel. Within that mystery, which seems to be about the way our brains interpret the signals, is the reason why colours and nature are so deeply moving.
